A cold galvanising paint for application onto iron or steel as a rust inhibitor. Can be used as a primer or finishing coat to protect structural steel work, agricultural and construction plant & machinery, gates, iron, pipework.  Prevents rust build where damage to a galvanized surface has been caused by in-situ welding and cutting.

Carbogalv cold galvanising zinc rich primer for application onto iron and steel. It can also be used as a self-finish coating; or as a durable rust inhibiting primer beneath many of our top coats. Suitable for all ferrous metals, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, mild steel, cast iron and wrought iron. Recommended for the protection of: structural steel work; agricultural and construction plant and machinery. Carboglav Cold galvanising zinc rich primer is also good for gates, railings, iron, pipework. Helps prevent rust where existing galvanised surface has been damaged by cutting or welding.

Pack Sizes: 500ml, 1 Litre, 2.5 lItre, 5 Litre

Coverage / Drying Times:

Surface Dry: 3 hours

Overcoat: after 24 hours

Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application.
Please note, drying times will be extended at low temperatures. Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 10ºC

Theoretical Coverage: 7 as self finishing- 14m² as a primer per litre.

Thinning and Cleaning: use Palatine White Spirit.

(Coverage rate can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.)

Preparation:

Proper surface preparation is essential for the success of any protective coating system. Before you begin ensure the area is free from any dust, oil, grease, old coatings and surface contaminants.

Rub down previously gloss painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.

Application:

Best results are obtained in warm (minimum 10°C), dry conditions.

Mix thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes using a drill stirrer. A wooden batten at least 25mm wide is also ideal.
Apply an even coat using a brush, short to medium pile roller on smooth surfaces.
