Carbosolv Multi Purpose paint thinners is part of our ever increasing Carbosolv range of thinners and solvents. This xylene based paint thinner is perfect for thinning Palatine’s following coatings:
When thinning for spraying please refer to the technical data sheet of the relevant paint. This will offer guidance in order to dilute at the correct ratio. For most top coats the recommended dilution would be 1 part solvent to 10 parts paint or approximately 10%.
For primers such as Palatine Fast Dry Metal the recommended dilution would be 1.5 parts thinner to 10 parts paint or approximately 15%.
Also used for cleaning spray equipment and equipment such as solvent resistant rollers and brushes.
Contrast with White Spirit: This is a much “stronger” solvent than standard White Spirit. Do not use White Spirit with the fast-dry coatings listed above, as it will not work correctly.
Safety: Ensure the application area is well-ventilated. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as this solvent is highly flammable and carries health hazard classifications.
Application
General Usage: Ideal for diluting paint for use in spray guns or for improving flow during application.
Topcoats: The recommended dilution ratio is approximately 1 part thinner to 10 parts paint (10%).
Primers: For primers like Palatine Fast Dry Metal, the recommended ratio is approximately 1.5 parts thinner to 10 parts paint (15%).
Mixing: Add the thinner gradually to the paint while stirring. Stir thoroughly for at least 2 minutes to ensure the solvent is fully and evenly incorporated.
Spray Equipment: When using in spray guns, always refer to the specific technical data sheet of the paint being used for precise dilution guidance.
