Product Description

Teamac High Performance Marine Gloss is a two pack water based coating for use on boats and marine surfaces. It is designed to be used both above and below the water-line, extending the lifespan of boats.

The coating will not fade or yellow when exposed to high levels of ultra violet light, making it suitable for exterior use. It also will not support fungus growth and can be easily cleaned of surface contaminants.

High Performance Marine Gloss is designed to be used to overcoat Two Pack High Performance Primer. For a single pack marine gloss, see Teamac Marine Gloss or Carbosil Marine Gloss.

Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be laitance free, clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants.

Mixing Instructions

The product is supplied in two containers: one larger than the other and labelled Base. The other smaller one labelled Activator. The contents of the pack marked Activator are added to the contents of the larger pack marked Base and thoroughly mixed together, preferably by slow speed electric mixer for 2 minutes or until thoroughly mixed. Failure to mix the material correctly will lead to uncured areas in the coating.

Application Conditions

Apply between 5°C to 30°C by brush or short nap mohair roller. This product can also be spray applied in approved conditions. When brush or roller applied at ambient temperatures – these products do not emit free Isocyanate at above levels recommended by C.O.S.H.H. Regulations. However, the protective measures shown on the product labels and safety data sheets must be followed. When used at elevated temperatures or atomised (sprayed) these products do emit small amounts of free Isocyanate and should only be sprayed in an atmosphere controlled working area, with suitable ventilation or flame proof extraction of air. Operatives must wear suitable protective clothing and separate air fed breathing apparatus. It is recommended that spraying of these products be avoided wherever possible to facilitate uncomplicated application and site conditions.

Pot Life – Once the parts are mixed together the material has to be used within 6 to 8 hours.

Preceding Coat

Metal surfaces should be suitably primed with Teamac HP Primer Undercoat.

Why does condensation form in my home?
Condensation forms more easily on cold surfaces in the home, for example walls and ceilings. In some cases, those surfaces can be made warmer by improving the thermal insulation. In many cases, thermal insulation is not possible due to house configuration or cost of refurbishment. An efficient way of combating condensation is to cover walls and ceilings with a specially formulated anti-condensation paint and TruTherm anti condensation paint has been formulated using the latest technology of additives.

What is the difference between anti condensation paint and thermal anti condensation paint?
Anti-condensation paint and thermal anti-condensation paint both aim to prevent condensation issues, but they work in slightly different ways:

Anti-Condensation Paint:
Purpose: Anti-condensation paint is designed to stop damp problems caused by moisture from inside the property.
Function: It creates a layer of insulation on surfaces, reducing the formation of water droplets on walls. This type of paint is particularly useful in areas prone to high humidity, such as bathrooms, kitchens, or basements.
Effect: By improving the thermal performance of surfaces, it makes them less likely to retain moisture, preventing condensation and mold formation.
Limitations: While it helps reduce condensation, it cannot completely prevent mold growth. Good air circulation, adequate heating, and ventilation are still essential12.
Thermal Anti-Condensation Paint:
Purpose: Like anti-condensation paint, thermal anti-condensation paint aims to prevent condensation, but it focuses on thermal insulation.
Function: It absorbs and holds heat longer than standard emulsions. By doing so, it prevents condensation from forming on the surface of the wall, as the heat evaporates any moisture.
Effect: The improved thermal properties keep the wall warmer, reducing the risk of condensation.
Application: Use it in areas where standard paints might struggle due to constant high humidity and moisture levels.
Note: While it helps prevent condensation, it’s essential to address root causes (such as ventilation and heating) alongside using this paint for optimal protection32.
In summary, both types of paint serve similar purposes but approach the problem from different angles. Consider your specific needs and the environment when choosing between them. Remember that no paint can completely eliminate mould growth, so proper maintenance and ventilation remain crucial.
