Preparation

General: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from loose or flaking materials, dirt, grease, and wax.

Compatibility Test: For previously painted surfaces, test for a solvent reaction by applying a small patch of this paint to check for softening or lifting of the old film.

Porous Surfaces (e.g., bare concrete): The first coat should be thinned with 10–20% Palatine Multi Purpose Thinners.

Metal: Can be applied directly to bare mild steel, but for maximum lifespan, it is recommended to apply a primer like Palatine Fast Dry Metal Primer first.

Safety: If applying indoors in poorly ventilated areas, wear a mask as fumes can take time to disperse.

Application

Methods: Use a suitable solvent-resistant roller or brush.

Coats: A minimum of 2–3 coats is recommended for best performance.

Thinning: Use Palatine Multi Purpose Thinners. Do not thin unless applying the first coat to a porous surface.

Environmental Conditions: Do not apply if the ambient temperature is below 10ºC.

Curing/Protection: Keep the coated area dry for at least 24 hours after application. If used for swimming pools or ponds, allow the paint to fully cure (full hardness takes 7–14 days) before filling with water.

Colours Available: Black, White, Ash Grey, Flint Grey, Goose Grey, Storm Grey, Light Blue, Poppy, and many others (over 30 standard colours available, plus custom tinting).

Pack Sizes: 2.5 Litre and 5 Litre.

(Based on standard conditions of 20°C)

Thinning and Cleaning

Thinning: Use Palatine Multi-Purpose Thinners. For porous surfaces (like bare concrete), thin the first coat by 10–20%.

Cleaning: Clean brushes and equipment immediately after use with Palatine Multi-Purpose Thinners.

Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 10°C. Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application. Minimum 2–3 coats recommended for best performance.
