Trutex Masonry Paint is a high quality, durable, water based, weather resistant coating. It gives your masonry excellent protection against weathering, dirt and pollution. Trutex Masonry Paint provides an economical alternative to Pliocem, our solvent based masonry paint. Use it for both interior and exterior masonry to create a smart, breathable, weather resistant finish.

Our masonry paint has high opacity and excellent coverage power; this means that your surfaces will look fresher for longer. Unsure which masonry paint to use? Preparation

General Surfaces: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and other contaminants.

Previously Painted Surfaces: Gloss and oil-painted surfaces must be washed clean and rubbed down to create a “key.”

Flaky or Powdery Surfaces: These should be primed prior to painting to ensure proper adhesion.

Porous Surfaces/New Work: For the first coat, thin the paint with up to 20% clean water (avoid over-thinning).

Mixing: Stir the paint well before application. If using more than one batch of the same colour, intermix them first to ensure colour consistency.

Application

Environmental Conditions: Do not apply if the ambient temperature is below 5°C or if the relative humidity exceeds 90%.

Methods: Can be applied by brush, roller, paint pad, or spray (conventional or airless).
* Brush: Load the brush generously and avoid over-spreading.
* Roller: Load generously and apply evenly. Use a deep pile roller for textured surfaces.

Colours Available: White, Magnolia (Ready Mixed). Also available in Sandtex Colours, BS 4800, BS 381C, RAL Classic, and NCS.

Pack Sizes: 5 Litre, 10 Litre.

Q: What is the main difference between Trutex and Pliocem?
A: Trutex is a water-based coating designed as a high-quality, economical alternative to Pliocem. While Trutex is the standard choice for most projects, Pliocem (solvent-based) is recommended if you need to apply paint in less-than-ideal or damp weather conditions.

Q: Can this be used indoors?
A: Yes. Unlike many heavy-duty masonry paints, Trutex is formulated for both interior and exterior masonry surfaces.

Q: Is the finish breathable?
A: Yes, Trutex provides a smart, breathable finish that allows the substrate to “breathe” while remaining weather-resistant.

Q: Can I return the paint if the colour isn’t to my liking?
A: Ready-made colours (Black and White) may be returnable, but tinted or customized colours (including Magnolia or specific RAL/BS codes) are bespoke and non-returnable once produced.

Q: Where can I find additional decorating advice?
A: Palatine their online chat for specific project queries not covered on the product page.
