Not sure whether you need to use a primer or undercoat? Take a look at our blog section and see our two primer features. Suitable for overcoating after 2 hours. Because it’s water based, brushes and rollers can be cleaned with water.

Preparation

Surface Hygiene: The area must be completely free from dust, oil, grease, and any other surface contaminants.

Stripping: Scrape away any old, loose, or flaking paint layers.

Deglossing: If applying over existing gloss paint, rub down the surface with fine waterproof abrasive paper to remove the shine and create a “key.” Rinse the area thoroughly after sanding.

Compatibility Check: Apply a small test patch (approx. 100x100mm) to ensure the primer reacts well with the existing substrate or previous coatings.

Substrate Limits: Use only on interior wood, hardboard, or plaster. Avoid application on metal, plastic, or surfaces that are crumbly or loosely bound.

Application

Agitation: Stir the paint thoroughly for at least 2 minutes. Use a wide wooden batten or a drill stirrer to ensure the mixture is completely uniform from the bottom of the tin.

Environment: Aim to apply the product in warm, dry conditions to ensure the best possible finish.

Manual Application: Apply an even coat using a brush or a short-to-medium pile roller.

Spray Setup: For airless or conventional spray systems, dilute the paint with a small amount of clean water (up to 10%) to reach the required flow consistency.

Treating New Wood: When working with bare wood, a minimum of two coats is recommended. You may thin the very first coat with water to help it soak deeper into the grain.

Building the Finish: A second coat applied at full strength will improve the durability and “hide” of the base layer.

Curing Protection: Ensure the freshly coated area remains dry and undisturbed for at least a full day following application.

Colour Consistency: If using multiple tins for a large area, intermix them in a larger container first to prevent subtle shade variations between batches.

Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request. Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted.

Colours Available: White (Matt finish).

Pack Sizes: 1 Litre, 2.5 Litre, and 5 Litre.

Coverage / Drying Times

(Based on standard conditions of 20°C)

Surface Dry: 30 Minutes.

Hard Dry: after 1 hour

Overcoat: after 2 hours. Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application.
Please note, drying times will be extended at low temperatures. Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 10ºC.

Theoretical Coverage: 12 – 14m² per litre.

Thinning and Cleaning

Thinning: For spray application, a dilution ratio of no more than 10% is recommended with clean water. For application onto new wooden surfaces, thinning the first coat with clean water can improve penetration.

Cleaning: Brushes and rollers can be cleaned with clean water immediately after use.

If using more than one batch of the same colour, intermix before use.

(Coverage rate can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.)
