Stepgrip Step & Ramp Paint is an anti-slip coating designed for use on steps, ramps and other walkway areas where slips are likely to occur. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use on concrete, metal and wood.
The paint provides a hardwearing and durable finish, as well as leaving a surface that is safe in both wet and dry conditions. This makes the paint useful for outdoor steps and ramps that are regularly exposed to the effects pf the weather.
Stepgrip is ideal for raised entrances that are frequently used and can become slippery after rain. It makes these areas safe for use by providing a textured finish that grants additional grip to the surface.
If you have any technical questions about our Stepgrip Step & Ramp paint, please get in touch. As this is a paint we manufacture, we have full technical knowledge and can answer any questions you may have. We are available by phone or web chat during office hours, with emails checked each working morning.
The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request.
Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted.
Test Patch: Always carry out a small test patch (approx. 100x100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Ensure the existing paint is sound and non-flaking. Abrade the surface (mechanical abrasion is preferred) to provide a “key” and maximize adhesion.
Unpainted Mature Concrete: For porous surfaces, first apply a coat of Pliocem Concrete Sealer.
Metal and Wood: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants.
Ambient Conditions: Do not apply when the ambient temperature falls below 10ºC.
Thinning: Do not thin.
Mixing: Stir thoroughly with a drill stirrer or a wooden baton (at least 2” wide). Continue to stir during application to prevent the anti-slip additive from settling and to maintain consistency.
Methods: Apply using a brush or a short to medium pile roller.
Technique: Avoid applying the paint too thickly, as this can affect performance and results.
Layering: Apply at least two coats. If more than 5 days pass between coats, the first coat must be lightly abraded before applying the second.
Post-Application: Keep the coated area dry for at least 24 hours. Avoid power washing the surface for at least 7 days.
For full technical, safety and application details, please see the data sheets.
