Palatine Professional Gloss Tile Paint is a solvent based paint with increased adhesion strength compared to our professional gloss paint. Due to this, the tile paint can be applied directly to tiled surfaces.
This paint is ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms, where tiled walls are often a highlight of the room. Our gloss tile paint can be used to recoat tired tiles, or update their look with a fresh colour. You can use tile paint to redesign a room without needing to replace the existing tiles.
In addition to the colours shown here, we also match to RAL Classic, BS 4800 and BS 361C colours. For more information on this service, including prices, please contact our team.
Our friendly team is available to contact by phone or web chat during our opening hours, or by email, where overnight messages are replied to the next working morning. As our gloss tile paint is a paint we manufacture, we are able to answer any technical questions you may have. This includes topics such as surface and coating compatibility, preparation and application.
We also supply this paint in a satin finish that provides a more subtle appearance to the surface. For kitchen and bathroom decorating, we also have a cupboard paint available in a gloss or satin finish and a range of colours.
Please note: The colours shown here are only a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently.
Surface Condition: Ensure tiles are clean, dry, and entirely free from dust, oil, grease, and surface contaminants.
Cleaning: Thoroughly degrease tiles before painting, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Ensure existing coatings are sound and non-flaking. If the surface has been previously painted, it should be sound; if not, remove any loose material.
Priming: No primer is required for sound, non-flaking surfaces, as this paint is engineered with increased adhesion strength for direct application to tiles.
Environmental Conditions: For best results, apply in warm, dry conditions with a minimum ambient temperature of 10°C.
Test Patch: Always carry out a test patch (approx. 100x100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility and colour satisfaction.
Mixing: Stir thoroughly with a drill stirrer or a wooden batten (at least 2 inches wide). Continue to stir occasionally during application to prevent thickening.
Methods:
* Brush/Roller: Apply an even coat and work it well into the tiled surface.
* Spray: Can be applied via spray; thin with Palatine White Spirit if necessary.
Coats:
* Avoid applying the paint too thickly to prevent delayed drying.
* Subsequent coats should be applied within 5 days. If more than 5 days pass, the surface should be lightly abraded (sanded) before the next coat is applied.
Curing: Keep the newly painted area dry for at least 24 hours following application.
Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request. Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application
to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted
