Palatine Professional Gloss Tile Paint is a solvent based paint with increased adhesion strength compared to our professional gloss paint. Due to this, the tile paint can be applied directly to tiled surfaces.
This paint is ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms, where tiled walls are often a highlight of the room. Our gloss tile paint can be used to recoat tired tiles, or update their look with a fresh colour. You can use tile paint to redesign a room without needing to replace the existing tiles.
In addition to the colours shown here, we also match to RAL Classic, BS 4800 and BS 361C colours. For more information on this service, including prices, please contact our team.
Our friendly team is available to contact by phone or web chat during our opening hours, or by email, where overnight messages are replied to the next working morning. As our gloss tile paint is a paint we manufacture, we are able to answer any technical questions you may have. This includes topics such as surface and coating compatibility, preparation and application.
We also supply this paint in a satin finish that provides a more subtle appearance to the surface. For kitchen and bathroom decorating, we also have a cupboard paint available in a gloss or satin finish and a range of colours.
Please note: The colours shown here are only a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently.

Surface Dry: 3 hours

Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application.
Please note, drying times will be extended at low temperatures. Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 10ºC
Theoretical Coverage: 12 – 14m² per litre.
(Coverage rate can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.)
Preparation:
On previously painted surfaces, ensure it is sound and non-flaking.
Stir the paint with a drill stirrer or wooden baton at least 2” wide. Continue to stir during application to avoid thickening of the product.
Application:
Best results are obtained in warm (minimum 10°C), dry conditions.
Apply by brush, roller or spray and work well into the surface. Avoid applying the paint too thickly to avoid delaying drying times. The second and subsequent coats can be applied as soon as the first / preceding coat is dry usually after 12-24 hours, and should be applied within 5 days. If more than 5 days elapse, the first coat should be lightly abraded before the second coat is applied.
Thinning and Cleaning: Use Palatine White Spirit.
If using more than one batch of the same colour, intermix before use
Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request. Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application
to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted
Preparation:
To ensure a durable and effective bilge paint application, it’s crucial to properly prepare the surface. Start by cleaning the substrate thoroughly to remove any dirt, grease, or oil. You can use a degreaser or mineral spirits for this step. Next, inspect the surface for any rust or old paint. If present, remove the rust using a wire brush, sandpaper, grinder or suitable rust remover / treatment. For old paint, use a paint stripper or sand it down until you reach the bare metal. Once the surface is clean and free of rust and old paint, sand it with fine-grit sandpaper to create a smooth and slightly roughened surface for better paint adhesion. Finally, wipe down the steel with a clean cloth to remove any dust or debris before applying our rust-inhibitive marine primer. After the primer has dried, you can proceed with applying our high build marine undercoat and then one but preferably two coats of the bilge paint.
Application:
Best results are obtained in warm (minimum 10°C), dry conditions.
Mix thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes using a drill stirrer. A wooden batten at least 25mm wide is also ideal.
Apply an even coat using a brush, short to medium pile roller on smooth surfaces.
For spray application by either airless or conventional spray a dilution ration of no more than 10% is recommended with Palatine White Spirit by volume.
A second coat can be applied at full strength. This will prolong the life and performance of the coating.
For application onto wooden surfaces, a minimum of two coats is recommended.

Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 5ºC or relative humidity exceeds 90%.
