£11.97 – £61.19Price range: £11.97 through £61.19
Palatine Professional Radiator Paint is a solvent-based finish designed to withstand radiator temperatures while delivering a smooth, durable look. Choose satin or gloss depending on the level of sheen you want, with a hard-wearing finish that’s easy to wipe clean.
Choose radiator paint in satin or gloss for a durable, wipeable finish. Suitable for domestic radiators and interior metal surfaces. Pick satin for a softer sheen or gloss for a brighter finish.
Available in a range of colours (including popular neutrals).
For copper pipework and heating pipes, use our dedicated product: Paint for Copper Pipes and heating pipes.
Technical information: for drying times, coverage and product documents, see the Data Sheet tab.
The colours on this radiator and appliance paint listing are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently.

Surface Condition: The radiator or appliance surface must be completely cool before you begin.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Ensure the existing paint is sound and non-flaking. Abrade the surface (preferably mechanical abrasion) to create a “key” for the new paint.
Bare Metal/Rust: Apply Carboxide Metal Primer to any bare metal or rusted areas. If you are significantly changing the colour or the surface is pitted, use Carboxide All Purpose Primer/Undercoat.
Environmental Conditions: Best applied in warm (minimum 10°C) and dry conditions. Do not apply when the temperature is below 10°C.
Washing: Avoid washing the newly painted surface for at least 7 days.
Mixing: Stir thoroughly with a drill stirrer or a wooden baton (at least 2” wide). Continue stirring occasionally during use.
Methods:
* Brush/Roller: Apply a nice even coat. Use a brush for cutting in and a solvent-resistant sleeve if using a roller.
* Spray: For airless or conventional spray, thin the paint by a maximum of 10% using Palatine White Spirit.
Coat Thickness: Avoid applying the paint too thickly, as this can cause through-drying problems and extend drying times.
Recovers: A second coat can be applied once the first is hard dry. If more than 5 days pass before the second coat is applied, lightly abrade the first coat first.
Post-Application: Keep the area dry for at least 24 hours after painting to ensure the film cures correctly.
Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request. Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted.

Q: Can Radiator Paint be used on all types of radiators and heated surfaces?
A: Yes, it’s specially formulated for use on domestic radiators, heated towel rails, and hot water pipes. Always ensure the surface is cool before application.
Q: Does Radiator Paint withstand high temperatures without yellowing or peeling?
A: Absolutely. The paint is heat-resistant and formulated to maintain colour and finish, resisting yellowing, cracking, or peeling even with regular heating cycles.
Q: Is it necessary to use a primer before applying this paint?
A: You should apply a metal primer like Carboxide Metal Primer to any bare metal or previously rusted areas to ensure proper protection and adhesion.
Q: Can I use this paint on a radiator that is currently turned on?
A: You must always ensure the radiator or appliance surface is completely cool before you begin the application process.
Q: What should I do if my radiator is already painted?
A: If the existing paint is sound, you simply need to clean the surface and lightly abrade it with sandpaper to provide a “key” for the new coating to stick to.
