Palatine Exterior Extra Durable Wood Stain Satin is a satin finish equivalent to Exterior Extra Durable Wood Stain Gloss. It is a translucent wood stain designed for use on outdoor wooden surfaces. The stain provides a UV stable and hard wearing satin finish that offers long lasting protection on exterior timber.
Exterior Wood Stain Satin contains a blend of silicone and urethane resins, which combine to create a durable coating that is suitable for doors, soffits, fascia and most timber. This allows various exterior wooden surfaces to be finished with the same stain, providing a consistent appearance to an outdoor space.
The translucent finish of this wood stain allows the grain of the wood to remain visible once coated, providing a more natural look to the surface. This preserves the natural beauty of the wood, while providing the protection and choice in colour of a paint.
Palatine Exterior Wood Stain is available in 15 different colours, including various shades of brown and grey. Drying Times and Coverage
Palatine Exterior Extra Durable Wood Stain is touch dry in 3 hours and hard dry in 24 hours. Leave 6 to 12 hours before overcoating.

Preparation
Previously Painted/Coated Surfaces: Ensure the surface is sound and not flaking. Remove all previous coatings, preferably by mechanical abrasion (sanding), to create a “key” and maximize adhesion.
Weathered Wood: Clean the surface with a mould and mildew remover.
Repairs: If there are signs of rot or insect damage, remove the affected areas, treat with a woodworm killer, and repair with a high-performance wood filler.
Substrate Check: Ensure the wood is dry and free from contaminants.
Mixing
Stirring: Use a drill stirrer or a wooden baton (at least 2 inches wide).
Continuous Care: Stir thoroughly before starting and continue to stir during application to prevent the product from settling.
Application
Method: Can be applied by brush, roller, or spray.
Conditions: * Do not apply if the ambient temperature is below 10ºC.
* Keep coated areas dry for at least 24 hours after application.
Porous Wood: For the first coat on porous substrates, thin the stain by 10% with White Spirit.
