Product Description

Carbotrak tractor and implement paint dries fast to give a hard, protective, high gloss finish. Easy to apply and ideal for coating, touching up damage, or for restoration projects this tractor paint comes in most standard tractor shades and machinery paint colour codes. We supply paint for most tractor colours such as: Ford Tractor Blue, John Deere Yellow; Massey Ferguson Red etc.

Using Carbotrak, which is solvent borne, will help keep your surface smooth and chip free, even with the heavy usage sustained by this type of vehicle.

Smooth any surface and apply suitable primer such as our Carboxide Metal Primer.

Preparation

Surface Condition: Ensure the area is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, millscale, and any loose or flaking material.

Metal Treatment: For steelwork, focus on degreasing and removing any rust or scale.

Previously Painted Surfaces: Rub down old gloss paint with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.

Priming:
* Bare Ferrous Metal: Use Palatine Anti-Corrosive Metal Primer or All Purpose Primer/Undercoat.
* Non-Ferrous Metal: Use Fast Dry Etching Primer.

Colour Consistency: If using more than one batch of the same color, intermix them before starting to ensure a uniform shade.

Application

Conditions: For best results, apply in warm (minimum 10°C) and dry conditions.

Mixing: Stir thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes using a drill stirrer or a wide wooden batten.

Methods:
* Brush/Roller: Apply an even coat. Use short to medium pile rollers for smooth surfaces and long pile for textured ones.
* Spray: Dilute by no more than 10% with Palatine White Spirit. Apply thin coats and allow each to dry before applying the next.

Second Coat: Once dry, a second coat can be applied at full strength to improve durability and performance.

Protection: Keep newly coated areas dry for at least 24 hours after application.

Colours Available: Full Tractor Range. Custom matching to RAL and BS codes is also available.

Pack Sizes: 1 Litre, 2.5 Litre, 5 Litre.

Coverage / Drying Times:

(Based on standard conditions of 20°C)

Surface Dry: 2 hours

Hard Dry: 8 hours

Overcoat: after 24 hours
Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application. Please note, drying times will be extended at low temperatures. Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 10ºC

Theoretical Coverage: 12 – 14m² per litre.

(Coverage rate can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.)

Thinning and Cleaning

Thinning: For brush or roller, generally used as supplied. For spray application, a dilution of no more than 10% by volume is recommended using Palatine White Spirit.

Cleaning: Use Palatine White Spirit for cleaning brushes, rollers, and equipment.

If using more than one batch of the same colour, intermix before use.
