Timber Cladding Paint is a durable long lasting gloss coating that will protect exterior wood cladding for years to come. Touch dry in 3 hours. Recommended for brush or solvent resistant roller, however conventional and airless spray can be used. Because it is resilient and protective against the elements, it is a great choice for a wide range of timber cladding.
We can colour match to RAL and BS colour codes, so you don’t have to forego appearance in favour of practicality
Oil based coatings are highly recommended over water based alternatives as once applied are resistant to moisture.
General Surfaces: Ensure the area is free from any dust, oil, grease, old coatings, and surface contaminants.
Bare Wood: For maximum protection, prime bare surfaces with Palatine All Purpose Primer/Undercoat in accordance with recommendations.
Non-Ferrous Metals: If applying to these surfaces, use Etching Primer.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Rub down previously gloss-painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.
Ambient Conditions: Best results are obtained in warm (minimum 10°C) and dry conditions. Do not apply when the ambient temperature falls below 10°C.
Mixing: Mix thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes using a drill stirrer or a wooden batten at least 25mm wide.
Methods:
* Brush: Recommended for best results.
* Roller: Use a short to medium pile roller on smooth surfaces and a long pile roller on textured surfaces. Use solvent-resistant rollers.
* Spray: Can be applied via conventional or airless spray. If spraying, a dilution ratio of no more than 10% by volume is recommended using Palatine White Spirit.
Coats: A minimum of two coats is recommended when used as a finish coat or applied onto wooden surfaces.
Post-Application: Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application.
Colours Available: Anthracite Grey, Graphite Grey, Mahogany Brown, Signal Grey, Slate Grey, Black. (Custom RAL/BS colour matching is also available).

Q: What is the main purpose of Palatine Timber Cladding Paint?
A: It is an oil-based, opaque coating designed specifically to protect and decorate exterior wooden cladding, providing long-lasting protection against the elements.
Q: Why choose an oil-based paint over a water-based one for cladding?
A: Oil-based coatings are highly recommended for exterior wood because they are naturally more resistant to moisture and provide a more durable barrier against weathering.
Q: What colours are available for the cladding paint?
A: Standard colours include Anthracite Grey, Graphite Grey, Signal Grey, Slate Grey, Mahogany Brown, and Black. Custom colour matching to RAL and BS codes is also available.
Q: Can this paint be applied with a sprayer?
A: Yes, while brush or solvent-resistant roller is recommended, it can be applied via conventional or airless spray. If spraying, you can thin it by up to 10% with Palatine White Spirit.
Q: How should I clean my brushes after painting?
A: Because this is an oil-based product, you must use Palatine White Spirit for thinning the paint and cleaning your application tools.
