Product Description

Protect and restore your metal surfaces with our Rust Treatment, phosphoric acid based. Specially formulated for automotive, industrial, marine, and household applications, this solution chemically transforms rust into a stable, paintable surface while preventing further corrosion.

Unlike mechanical rust removal, our phosphoric acid rust treatment penetrates deep into rusted areas, neutralizing oxidation and leaving a durable black protective coating that serves as a perfect base for painting or sealing.

Phosphoric acid based solution is an effective rust treatment that works by chemically converting iron oxide (rust) into a more stable iron phosphate layer. You can use this process to remove light rust or neutralize flash rust after cleaning, creating a better surface for paint adhesion

Typical Applications:

  • Automotive bodywork and restoration
  • Marine equipment and ship maintenance
  • Industrial machinery and tools
  • Home and garden metal surfaces
  • Construction steel structures
  • Automotive parts, trailers, tools, machinery

Never add water to product; always add product to water.

For long term protection primer with Anti Corrosive Metal Primer, which can be overcoated with our recommended metal topcoats

Directions for Use:
Clean the surface by removing loose rust, dirt, oil, and grease with a wire brush or sandpaper.
Apply the phosphoric acid rust remover evenly with a brush, roller, or sprayer.
Allow the treatment to react for 15 minutes to several hours (depending on rust severity).
Once the surface turns black / darkens and fully dries, it is ready for painting or coating.
Rinse tools and equipment with water immediately after use.
For best results, apply primer / paint after treatment.

Safety Precautions:
Contains phosphoric acid – handle with care.
Wear gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection
Use in a well ventilated area.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Store in a cool, dry place away from children.

Q1: What is Rust Treatment and how does it work?
A: Rust Treatment is a chemical solution that converts existing rust (iron oxide) into a stable, paintable surface. It reacts with rust to form an inert layer that prevents further corrosion and acts as a protective primer for topcoats.

Q2: Which surfaces can I use this rust treatment on?
A: It is designed for use on ferrous metals such as steel and iron that show visible rust. Avoid applying it to non-rusted, galvanised, or aluminium surfaces, as the treatment needs rust to react effectively.

Q3: Do I need to paint over the rust treatment?
A: Yes, applying a topcoat is recommended for long-term protection and improved appearance. Once the treatment is fully cured (usually after 24–48 hours), you can paint over it with an oil-based or epoxy coating. Avoid using water-based paints directly on top.

Q4: How many coats should I apply, and what is the drying time?
A: For light rust, one coat is usually enough, but two thin coats offer better coverage. Drying times vary with temperature and humidity—allow about 20 minutes between coats and up to 48 hours for full curing before overcoating.

Q5: How should I prepare the surface before applying?
A: Remove loose rust, flaking paint, and scale using a wire brush or abrasive pad.
Clean the area with a degreaser to remove oil, grease, or dirt.
Ensure the surface is dry before application.
Lightly sand smooth or glossy areas to help adhesion.
