Q: Why should I choose Palatine Ceiling Paint instead of regular emulsion?
A: Palatine’s Ceiling Paint is formulated specifically for overhead application. It offers excellent coverage, minimal drip, and a smooth, even finish. Unlike standard wall paints, it’s engineered to reduce sagging, spatter, and run marks, giving a professional, uniform white ceiling look.
Q: How many coats of Ceiling Paint do I need, and what’s the drying time?
A: In most cases, one generous coat is sufficient, especially for freshly plastered or primed ceilings. In some situations, two coats may give better opacity or slightly brighter white. It is typically touch-dry within 1–2 hours, with re-coating possible after 4–6 hours under ideal conditions (good ventilation, moderate humidity & temperature).
Q: Can I tint the Ceiling Paint or match it to a specific shade?
A: Yes — Palatine offers tinting and custom colour matching, including to standard palettes like RAL, British Standard (BS), or NCS. However, for ceilings, most customers choose pure or off-white shades to maintain brightness and neutrality. Note that tinted or bespoke versions are non-returnable since they’re made to order.
Q: Is the Ceiling Paint washable or suitable for rooms with moisture?
A: Our Ceiling Paint is durable and can withstand gentle cleaning (e.g. light dusting or soft sponge). It’s suitable for most rooms, including kitchens and bathrooms, provided there’s good ventilation. However, for very humid areas (e.g. above showers or in steam rooms), you might prefer a moisture- or mould-resistant ceiling-specific paint.
Q: What are the application best practices for Ceiling Paint?
A: For the best results: Apply using a roller with 10–12 mm nap for smooth ceilings, or 12–15 mm for textured surfaces.
Work in small workable sections to maintain a wet edge and avoid lap marks.
Ensure even coverage and proper overlap between passes.
Maintain consistent lighting across the ceiling to spot any missed spots immediately.
Ensure good ventilation during and after application to help drying and reduce odours.
