When cold temperatures are encountered the epoxy resin concrete repair is available in Palatine Carbofix Coldcrete to fix damage and cracks in low temperature areas.

  • Good abrasion resistance
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Pre-weighed packs
  • Walk on time at 20°C: 10-12 hours
  • Full cure time: 7 days

Use with Epoxytread Primer if surface is in poor condition or on new, unmatured concrete.

Unsure which floor coating you need? Our blog gives information about where, when and how to use: polyurethane floor paint; two pack epoxy coatings and chlorinated rubber paint.

Preparation

General: Ensure the concrete surface is clean and free from any loose material.

Priming: It is recommended to use Epoxytread Primer if the concrete surface is in poor condition or if you are working on new, unmatured concrete.

Cold Weather: For low-temperature areas, use the specialized Carbofix Coldcrete version instead.

Mixing

This is a 3-part system comprising Resin, Hardener (Curing Agent), and Graded Aggregate.
1. The kit is supplied in pre-weighed packs.
2. Mix the Resin and Hardener thoroughly first.
3. Add the mixed liquid to the Aggregate.
4. Continue mixing until the components are homogenous to ensure proper curing and strength.

Application

Usage: Use this blended mortar to fill and level worn, cracked, or damaged concrete.

Finish: The resulting patch provides a hard, non-skid, and abrasive-resistant surface.

Thickness: A 5.5 kg unit will cover approximately 0.5 m² at a 5mm thickness.

Traffic Timing:
* Pedestrian (Walk-on): 10–12 hours at 20°C.
* Heavy Traffic/Mechanical Load: 24 hours.
* Chemical Resistance: Reaches full chemical cure after 7 days.

Colours Available: Standard Concrete Grey. (Comprises a 3-part system: Resin, Hardener, and Graded Aggregate).

Pack Sizes: 5.5 kg and 11 kg pre-weighed kits.

Coverage/ Drying Times

(Calculated at 20°C ambient temperature)

Surface Dry: 10 – 12 hours (Walk-on strength).

Hard Dry: 24 hours (Heavy traffic/Full mechanical load). Full chemical cure achieved after 7 days.

Overcoat: 12 – 24 hours.

Theoretical Coverage: 0.5 $m^2$ per 5.5 kg unit at a 5mm thickness.

Thinning and Cleaning

Thinning: DO NOT THIN. 100% solids epoxy system; solvent addition will compromise compressive strength and curing.

Cleaning: Clean tools immediately with Palatine Carbofix Tool Cleaner. Cured material requires mechanical removal.

If using more than one batch of the same colour, intermix before use.
