Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus 1L is a premium, solvent-based woodstain designed to protect and enhance exterior timber surfaces. With its translucent finish, it highlights the natural grain of the wood while offering dependable protection against weathering and UV exposure. This low-build coating penetrates deeply into the timber, forming a breathable, microporous layer that helps prevent moisture ingress and resists fungal growth.

Suitable for use on softwoods, hardwoods, plywood, and particle board, Cetol HLS Plus can be applied as a standalone finish or used as a basecoat beneath Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus for a more robust, long-lasting system. When used alone, three coats are recommended to achieve full protection and a consistent finish. Its flexible alkyd resin formulation allows the coating to move with the wood, reducing the risk of cracking, blistering, or peeling over time.

Recommended Use for Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus:

• Use as a basecoat for Cetol Filter 7 Plus or apply 3 coats as a standalone finish for full protection.

Application Instructions:

• Ensure wood is clean, dry, and free from old coatings. Sand smooth and remove dust.
• Mix thoroughly before and during use. Do not thin.
• Apply with a brush along the grain. Maintain a wet edge.
• Coverage:
  • 10–14 m²/L on smooth timber.
• Coats Required:
  • 3 coats for standalone use
  • 1 basecoat before 2 topcoats of Cetol Filter 7 Plus
• Drying Time: Touch dry in 4–6 hrs; recoat after 18–24 hrs.
