Palatine Chlorinated Rubber Floor Paint is a rubberised coating designed for use on indoor and outdoor areas such as garage and production area floors. The paint is resistant to water, chemicals, fungal growth and atmospheric pollution, providing a durable finish suitable for industrial and agricultural environments.
The floor paint is easy to clean with a hose or jet wash. This makes it a superb choice for dog kennels, catteries, hutches and stabling, where regular cleaning is essential to maintain a good standard of hygiene. This rubber coating can be applied to a range of surfaces, including concrete and garage floors, steel and road surfaces.
In addition to the colours on this page, we can also match to RAL classic, BS 4800 and BS381C colours. Please contact us by web chat, phone or email if you would like more details on this service.
We can add non-slip texture to this product which makes it even more suited to areas such as dog runs, animal housing and commercial food preparation areas.
Estimated Coverage: 14 to 16 sqm per litre
Apply by brush or solvent resistant roller
Container Size: 5 Litre
Surface Condition: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, and old loose coatings. Any existing contamination will affect the adhesion and performance of the paint.
Concrete & Masonry: Ensure concrete is fully matured (at least 28 days old). Remove any “laitance” (the dusty residue on new concrete) using an acid etch if the surface is very smooth or power-floated.
Porous Surfaces: For the first coat on highly porous surfaces, thin the paint with up to 10% Carbosolv Multi Purpose Thinners to seal the substrate and act as a primer.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Ensure existing coatings are sound and compatible. Lightly sand (abrade) the surface with a fine abrasive paper to create a “key” for the new paint to bond to. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
Metal Surfaces: Ensure the metal is clean and free from rust. Prime bare ferrous metal with a suitable anti-corrosive primer before applying the chlorinated rubber topcoat.
Mixing: Stir thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes before use. Use a drill stirrer or a wooden batten at least 25mm wide to ensure the pigments are fully dispersed.
Methods: Apply using a brush or a short-to-medium pile solvent-resistant roller.
Spray Application: If using airless or conventional spray, you can dilute by no more than 10% with Palatine Chlorinated Rubber (CR) Thinners.
Coating System:
* A minimum of 2 coats is recommended for most applications.
* Apply the first coat (thinned if necessary) and allow it to dry.
* Apply subsequent coats at full strength.
Conditions: Apply in warm (minimum 10°C), dry conditions. Avoid application if the temperature is likely to fall below 10°C during the application or drying period.
Chemical Resistance: This paint is specifically formulated for areas requiring high resistance to chemicals, acids, alkalis, and standing water (such as swimming pool surrounds or dairies).
Colours Available: 11 Standard, BS 381C, BS4800 and Ral Classic range.
Pack Sizes: 2.5 Litre, 5 Litre.
Surface Dry: 2 hours
Hard Dry: 7 to 14 days
Overcoat: after 16 hours. Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours following application. Please note, drying times will be extended at low temperatures. Do not apply when ambient temperature falls below 10ºC
Theoretical Coverage: 14 – 16m² per litre.
(Coverage rate can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.)
Thinning: Use Carbosolv Multi Purpose Thinners. For porous surfaces, thin the first coat with 5–10% thinners.
Cleaning: Clean brushes, rollers, and equipment immediately after use with Carbosolv Multi Purpose Thinners.
If using more than one batch of the same colour, intermix before use.
