Coldcrete Epoxy Patch Repair System is suitable for use in the repair of worn and damaged concrete where a high strength repair material is required in cold store areas as low as – 40ºC or when temperatures do not permit the use of Palatine’s Carbofix 3k Concrete Patch Repair products. Carbofix Coldcrete Patch and Repair System can be used in food environments and is also low odour.
Carbofix Coldcrete Epoxy Patch Repair System is based on a blend of epoxy resin, curing agents and selected aggregates. All items are pre-weighed and packed, so they are ready for mixing on site. The finished material provides a non-skid and abrasive resistant surface, with good resistance to dilute acids, petrol, oil and grease.
Use with Epoxytread Primer if surface is in poor condition or on new, unmatured concrete.
Unsure which floor coating you need? Our blog gives information about where, when and how to use: polyurethane floor paint; two pack epoxy coatings and chlorinated rubber paint.
Concrete Age: Concrete should be at least 3–4 weeks old.
Substrate Condition: Ensure the surface is clean and free from laitance, grease, oil, and moisture. Remove any other agents that may impair adhesion.
Priming: Use Epoxytread Primer if the surface is in poor condition or if applying to new, unmatured concrete.
Cold Storage Use: This product is specially formulated for cold environments and can be used in temperatures as low as –40°C.
This is a three-part system consisting of:
* Resin (A)
* Curing Agent (B)
* Filler (Aggregate)
1. Add the full contents of Curing Agent (B) to the Resin (A).
2. Mix thoroughly for two minutes.
Note: A small amount of this resin mix can be brush-applied to the repair area as a primer.
3. Add this mixed liquid to the Filler in the bucket provided.
4. Mix thoroughly until all the aggregate is completely wetted.
5. Pot Life: Once mixed, the material has a usable life of approximately 20 minutes (at 20°C).
Method: Apply the mixed material to the (optionally primed) substrate.
Levelling: Screed the material to the required level.
Finishing: Use a steel trowel to finish the surface to a “resin-rich” appearance.
Protection: It provides a non-skid, abrasive-resistant surface once hardened.
Safety
* Use barrier creams, gloves, and protective clothing.
* If the material contacts eyes, wash with copious amounts of cold water and seek medical advice. Wash hands with soap and water.
