Why Choose Our Oxide Gloss Paint?

Carboxide oxide gloss paint is an excellent and practical, weatherproof paint. A traditional oxide gloss paint that will protect metal and wood.  Touch dry in 3 hours. Recommended for brush or solvent resistant roller, however conventional and airless spray can be used. Because it is resilient and protective against the elements, it is a great choice for an agricultural and industrial gloss paint.

Oxide Gloss Paint Colours & Finishes

We can colour match to RAL and BS colour codes, so you don’t have to forego appearance in favour of practicality.  Apply as a direct coat, but note that it will perform best when applied over selected selected primers and undercoats. Carboxide agricultural & industrial gloss has excellent coverage. For extra waterproof properties check out our Carbolustre 2000 barn paint.

Preparation

General Cleaning: Ensure the area is free from dust, oil, grease, old coatings, and any surface contaminants.

Steelwork: Prioritize degreasing and the removal of rust and scale. All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from loose or flaking material, millscale, etc.

Priming:
* Bare Ferrous Surfaces: Use Palatine Anti-Corrosive Metal Primer or Palatine All Purpose Primer/Undercoat for maximum protection.
* Non-Ferrous Metals: Use Palatine Fast Dry Etching Primer.

Previously Painted Surfaces: Rub down old gloss paint with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.

Compatibility: It is recommended to carry out a small test patch (approx. 100x100mm) before full application to check for compatibility and color satisfaction.

Application

Conditions: For best results, apply in warm (minimum 10°C) and dry conditions. Do not apply if the temperature is below 10°C.

Mixing: Mix thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes using a drill stirrer or a wooden batten at least 25mm wide.

Methods:
* Brush/Roller: Apply an even coat. Use short to medium pile rollers for smooth surfaces and long pile for textured ones.
* Spray (Airless or Conventional): Dilute by no more than 10% with Palatine White Spirit by volume. Apply thin coats and allow each to dry before applying subsequent coats.

Recommended Coats:
* Wooden Surfaces: A minimum of two coats is recommended.
* Finish Coat: Applying a second coat at full strength once the first is dry will prolong the life and performance of the coating.

Protection: Keep coated areas dry for a minimum of 24 hours after application.

Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request. Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted.
