Preparation

General: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, old coatings, and contaminants.

Priming (Ferrous Metal/Steel): For maximum protection, prime bare surfaces with Palatine Anti-Corrosive Metal Primer or Palatine All Purpose Primer/Undercoat. Using a dedicated red oxide primer first provides the best defense against rust.

Non-Ferrous Metals: Use Palatine Fast Dry Etching Primer.

Previously Gloss Painted Surfaces: Rub down with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.

Testing: Always carry out a test patch (approx. 100x100mm) to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate.

Application

Conditions: Best results are obtained in warm (minimum 10°C) and dry conditions.

Mixing: Stir thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes using a drill stirrer or a wooden batten (at least 25mm wide).

Methods:
* Brush/Roller: Apply an even coat. Use short to medium pile rollers for smooth surfaces and long pile for textured ones.
* Spray (Airless or Conventional): Dilute by no more than 10% with Palatine White Spirit by volume.

Coats: A minimum of two coats is recommended when used as a finish coat or for application onto wooden surfaces.

Protection: Keep coated areas dry for at least 24 hours after application.

Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request. Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted.
