Carbodeck UV Complete Decking Paint is a tough, durable polyurethane oil based coating for the decoration and protection of old & new timber deck boards, spindles and most exterior woodwork.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Ensure the existing surface is sound and non-flaking. Abrade the surface (mechanical abrasion is preferred) to provide a “key” and maximize adhesion.
Cleaning: Scrub the decking boards with a stiff-bristled brush and Barrettine Super Concentrated Decking Cleaner to remove persistent stains, mould, and algae.
Drying: Allow the wood at least 24 hours to dry completely after cleaning before you begin painting.
Testing: Always perform a small test patch (approx. 100x100mm) to check for compatibility with previous coatings and to ensure you are happy with the color.
Batching: If you are using more than one tin of the same colour, intermix them before use to ensure consistency.
Ambient Conditions: Apply in warm (minimum 10°C) and dry conditions.
Stirring: Stir the paint thoroughly with a drill stirrer or a 2-inch wide wooden baton. Continue to stir during application to prevent the product from settling.
Technique: Apply by brush, roller, or spray, working the paint well into the surface.
Coating Thickness: Avoid applying the paint too thickly, as this will significantly delay drying.
Recoating:
* Apply the second coat as soon as the first is dry (usually 12-24 hours).
* The second coat should be applied within 5 days. If more than 5 days pass, you must lightly abrade the first coat before applying the second.
Curing: Keep the area dry for at least 24 hours after the final coat. Do not power wash the surface for 7 days following application.
Please note: The colours on the product listings are only given as a guide. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours. In addition, everyone sees these colours differently. Sample pots are available to order upon request. Always carry out a test patch (approximately 100x100mm) before full application
to ensure compatibility with previous coatings and the substrate, and to ensure the colour achieved meets your requirements. Failure to do so will result in a product refund claim not being accepted.
