Preparation

Surface Condition: All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from loose or flaking material, dust, grease, and millscale. Proper degreasing and the removal of rust and scale are essential for successful adhesion.

Priming:
* Bare Metal/Ferrous Surfaces: Prime with Palatine Anti-Corrosive Metal Primer or Carboxide All Purpose Primer/Undercoat.
* Non-Ferrous Metals: Use Etching Primer.

Previously Painted Surfaces: Rub down old gloss-painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly to create a “key” for the new paint.

Compatibility: Suitable for wood, metal, and many other surfaces. It can be applied over existing coatings once properly prepared.

Testing: Always carry out a test patch (approx. 100mm x 100mm) before full application to ensure compatibility and that the achieved colour meets your requirements.

Application

Mixing: Stir thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes before use. A drill stirrer or a wooden batten at least 25mm wide is recommended.

Method: Apply an even coat using a brush or roller. Use a short-to-medium pile roller for smooth surfaces and a long pile roller for textured surfaces.

Spray Application: Dilute by no more than 10% by volume with Palatine White Spirit for airless or conventional spray equipment. Apply thin coats and allow each to dry before applying subsequent layers.

Coating System: Once the first coat is dry, a second coat can be applied at full strength to prolong the life and performance of the finish.

Conditions: For best results, apply in warm (minimum 10°C) and dry conditions.
